Hotel Information for Away Regattas
Dear Rowing Parents,
There are three travel regattas this season; OARS in Orlando, Sprint League Championship in Tampa, and State Sweeps Championship in Sarasota. If your child is an upper school rower or a middle school rower who moved up to an upper school boat and you are planning to attend the regattas, you will need to book your rooms NOW. The hotels fill up fast. You can always cancel, if you can't go. I was able to reserve a block of rooms at a discount at each hotel where the kids are staying. You do not have to stay at the same hotel.
For new parents, please note that you will probably never see your kids at the hotel. They are very busy with prepping for the regatta. They will probably be gone before you even get up. However, its nice because a lot of the families will be there. All of the rowers ride down together on the team bus to the regattas. At the end of the regatta, they can ride home with you.
Regarding Sweep Championship, the rooms everywhere book up fast. People come from all over the state for this event. So, if you plan to go, book your rooms early.
If you book a room and then need to cancel, please let me know. Another rowing family may need a room. Please check the regular booking hotel site. You might find something better that suits you.
Each hotel reservation is different and there are a limited number of rooms.
