Boys Rowing

Well, we are at the midpoint of the season, and things have begun very well. The boys have been working hard, are getting faster and seem to be having a good time.

This week, we have had three eights and a four coming to practice, and this is the group that we will take to Orlando on Saturday. Friday we will practice at 8 and again at noon. Many of the boys have been bringing a lunch or a snack for between the two rows. Tomorrow we will finish with a light row and then load the trailer, so they should be finished about 2:00. On Saturday, we will have a bus, leaving from the boathouse at 7:00, to take them to Orlando where they will row in the morning, have lunch and then row again in the afternoon. This is not really a race, but is more of a practice with Deerfield Academy from New England who are down here on their spring break. They are one of the top programs in the country, so it will be fun to work next to them. We hope to be back to our boathouse between 6 and 7.

After this weekend, we will begin the second half of the season with some fun, big races coming up.
