Upcoming Double Duel Regatta

Hi all rowing parents,

Episcopal Eagles are off to a great start. It looks like Episcopal is the overall winner of the Stanton Invitational. We won first in almost every race. For those of you that missed it, we had beautiful weather, super parent turnout, and the kids rowed STRONG!! There were a few pieces of clothing left behind. These items were brought back to the boathouse. Anything not claimed was put in the Lost & Found bin in the Boathouse. Please take a look or have the kids look to see if they are missing anything. There was a unisuit, shoes, and socks left with no name. There were also three chairs left behind. They are currently on the trailer.

Mike Sievert created a few videos of our races from last week's regatta. You can find them under the jacksonvilleepiscopalrowing.com website under videos or on Facebook under ESJ Rowing.

We will have our first Pasta Night this Friday at 5:45 at the Boathouse. Every kid rowing in Saturday's regatta is encouraged to stay. The kids love these dinners. Its great for them to have some fun down time with their friends. Pick up is 6:30ish. We are ordering from Carrabbas. There will be meatless tomato sauce with pasta, pasta with meatballs, gluten free pasta, chicken marsala, Caesar salad, bread sticks and a cookie. I wish I was eating with them.

It looks like we will have a bigger crowd this weekend for the Double Dual with Bolles regatta. Good news is that the regatta will start a little later this weekend. The first race is 10:00am and last race is 2:20. The upper boats will need to arrive at 7:30 am to set up the dock. The schedule is not set and times are subject to change. In fact, they just did. The Signup Genius was just sent out. I will adjust the signup genius accordingly. If you didn't receive it, then please let me know. Coach Wandel will let the middle school boats know what time to be at the race site. Right now their first race is at 12pm. A big THANKS to all of you that have already signed up.

There will be bagels and oatmeal in the morning and grilled chicken, beans and rice for lunch. Please ask your rower to bring their water bottles. We have large waters to refill their water bottles and individual gatorades. Please remember to bring yourself some drinks and snacks.

After the regattas, the upper school travels to the Boathouse to unload the boats. We didn't last week because of the ESJ Bash. Kids can either ride with an upper school kid there or you can bring them. Please make sure they have a ride before you leave them. Coaches will release the kids after they put up the boats.

Couple of notes for the next regatta. Weather center currently says high of 66 and sunny. A perfect day! Please label your rower's items. Things easily get lost or picked up by someone else. No dogs on the IRA property.
